Name change update
If you are applying for a school place before 1st September 2026, the academy will still appear as The Samworth Church Academy on the Local Authority admissions system. From 1st September 2026, the name will change to Sherwood Church Academy. Applications made under either name relate to the same academy, and parents and carers do not need to take any further action.
If your child lives in Nottinghamshire and requires a school place in September 2026 you must apply to Nottinghamshire County Council between 4 August 2025 and 31 October 2025.
The offer date is 2nd March 2026.

If you wish to apply for a Church commitment to be taken into consideration as part of your application, please note that you must complete the Supplementary Information Form (see the forms below). The form is in addition to the Local Authority's application process. Please ensure both parts of the form are completed, signed and returned to The Samworth Church Academy.

In-year application
An in-year application is for children requiring a school place during the school year, rather than at the usual transfer time. The academy participates in Nottinghamshire County Council’s In-Year Co-ordinated Scheme.
